Clare peak is a simple grade 1 peak at the northern end of the Takitimu mountains. We'll make a weekend of it leaving lower Princhester at around 10am. Saturday. Staying at Upper Princhester biv or the basin above.

Clare Peak summit on Sunday then head north back via Princhester saddle.
The trip covers a pleasing variety of bush and alpine terrain so it is a very enjoyable route.

This event is hosted by the Southland Section NZAC.

If you could sign up on our facebook page too that would be great as a  group chat will be created to help with transport

Getting There

I suggest members from the Otago Section may wish to carpool to this event.

If you sign up early and indicate if your able to provide a lift for others I can from a group chat to facilitate carpooling.

The Southland contingent will leave from Invercargill. We aim to be starting from the Lower Princhester Hut carpark at approximately 10am.
