Description

This is a 3-day trip over Waitangi weekend. It is proposed to drive to the Matukituki Valley on the Friday afternoon/evening and camp about one hour up the track. On the Saturday we will walk up the Cascade Saddle track and camp a short distance along the ridge to Mt Tyndall.  On Sunday climb Tyndall and return to Camp. On Monday walk out and drive home.

This trip requires a good level of fitness as you need to carry your camping gear up to 1,800m. You will need basic mountaineering skills. This is a grade 1 climb where use of a rope will not be required. You will need, helmet, ice axe and crampons plus camping gear. You will be responsible for organising your own food, but you can team up with other party members to share
